Feeling Better

Okay, we're feeling much better these days. I've still got the nausea in the mornings, but I have figured out that a bowl of cold cereal helps. It's really strange. I hate cereal. I can't stand anything soggy. It grosses me out but makes me feel better at the same time. Very weird.

The spotting has stopped so the hemorrhage must have corrected itself already. This is good news! Double Yeah!! We appreciate your thoughts and prayers thru that scary time. They worked!

I've gotten most of my Christmas shopping done. I still have to get a present for the Mize Christmas gift exchange and Tommy is being very uncooperative this year. He hasn't given me any ideas yet, but he hasn't given anyone any ideas. I think he'll be getting lumps of coal for being bad.

Roxie is taking it easy these days. She played with her nephew the other day and decided kids weren't so bad. We'll have to see what happens when we have a little one here that doesn't go home!

A Little Scare

We had a little scare last night and this morning. I had a tiny amount of bleeding. We called the doctor and they worked me in this morning. Everything is fine and I'm taking it easy the rest of the day.

They did an ultrasound and found that we have a subchorionial hemmorage. They were able to locate it on the ultrasound. The tech discribed it as a broken blood vessel. We were told that it is normal and should resolve itself with no complications. From what the tech said, these are pretty common. Mine happen to be about a 1/2 inch long and located at the bottom, therefore, the bleeding.

The good thing is that they did another ultrasound and the baby is about twice as big as it was last week. The heart rate this time was 167 beats per minute. So, I guess we're out of the boy range of heartbeats and we've moved on to the girl range if you believe the old wives tails. It was cool. We could see the arms and legs and the beginnings of the spine. The heartbeat is still good and strong and we could see it and hear it beating.

Correction, 224 day to go. I can't read!

Eight Weeks Today

And only 225 more days to go.

The books say the baby is the size of a kidney bean at this stage. It's developing eyelids and hands and feet. It's amazing to see the pictures of what it looks like at this stage. Something so small can make me feel so sick. It's crazy!

The countdown continues...

Now if Tommy would only let me start decorating the nursery!!! Ha Ha

Thank you

Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers. We appreciate them.

Morning sickness is here and kicking my butt. It's the kind that starts in the morning and keeps going until the evening. It should be called All Day Sickness! I know it's a small price to pay and in a weird way it is reassuring to know that something is going on since I can't feel anything with the baby yet. But, it won't hurt my feelings to get out of the first trimester. I'm just praying it stops in the second trimester. People tell me it just magically stops one day. I sure hope so.
