I forgot to post this a couple of weeks ago. Erin started on fruits and vegetables. This was our first attempt with our new food. We started with bananas. We've worked our way up.
It's so funny to watch this now. She's gotten so much better at eating. Now she opens her mouth if it's something she likes. Her new favorite is banana/grape/plum combo. We've also learned that IF she likes the food, very little of it ends up on the bib.

Peek-a-Boo!
Erin is a perpetual motion machine. If she is awake, she's moving. Her arms, legs, feet, hands, something is always moving. When we're in the car and I can't see her in her carseat I just turn and look at her feet. If they're still, she's asleep.
Tonight we were changing her diaper to put her to bed and I started playing peek-a-boo with her. She would get really still when I covered my face and then start laughing and moving when I didn't. We caught it on video.
I think it's too cute, but I'm a little biased!

Any Day Now
Erin really, really wants to crawl. We lay her on her tummy and she gets her legs up under her. She scoots backwards. I'm calling it her "crawfishing".
The hardest part is trying to keep her on her tummy. She hates it. You can lay her down and before you've even completely let go, she's already trying to flip back over onto her back. I have to be very sneaky and lay her down and lay down next to her. I put her right against my side so she can't roll. You have to keep her distracted too.
We put the toys in front of her and she gets interested in those. She'll get so excited she'll push herself backwards. She'll "talk" to you the whole time too. It really is cute. Video to come...

39 and Holding!
I had a great birthday today. It was my regular day off so I didn't even have to use a vacation day.
Tommy got up with Erin this morning to let me sleep in. It was great! Once I got up, Erin and I just hung out here and stayed in our pajamas until after lunch. It was great playing with her and just hanging out. Tommy had to work, but was able to come home a little early.
Tonight we went to eat with family and friends. We had a great time. Erin was asleep when we got there, but woke up soon after. We sat her in the big girl high chair at the restaurant. She's getting the hang of that really well.
Erin also got her little playmat things that I ordered. I was way more excited about it then she was. She loves to sit on the floor and play toys and we needed someplace better to do her therapy. I saw these on line and just had to have them. They pad it so she can sit up better on the carpet and they help "save" the carpet from spit up and drool. It's much bigger then what I actually set up. My plan is to leave 9 of the squares in the travel bag so we can use them on the go and the rest will stay here.
I think in my girl DNA code I'm suppose to have dreaded this birthday. 39 is not too bad so far. I have all that I could ever want and need. I love my life. I won't lie and tell you that I'm looking forward to turning 40, but I have a whole year to warm up to the idea!

Pop Goes the Weasel
After almost 8 years of marriage, it's funny to learn new things about each other.
Erin has a jumpy frog thing that we keep in our bedroom. It's like an exersaucer, but she can jump in it instead of rock. It plays a couple of tunes and it ribbits. All in all, it's very cute and she loves it. One of the songs it plays is "Pop Goes the Weasel".
Erin was in it the other night when we were both getting ready to go out to dinner. We had her sitting in Froggy in the middle of our bedroom. We were passing from the bedroom to bathroom and moving around a lot. She hit the little thing and made it start playing Pop Goes the Weasel. We both started singing it to her at the same time and we have VERY different versions of Pop Goes the Weasel.
Tommy then got on-line to see what the "real" lyrics were. (This is what he told me he was doing, but I know him. He was actually attempting to see if "his" version was more right then mine!) Turns out there are about a half dozen versions and neither one of the ones we learned as kids was on there. There were bits and pieces of both versions. I plan on making Erin bi-lyrical, meaning we'll teach her the right way to sing songs and then we'll teach her Daddy's way too!
