Sorry to just getting around to posting this, but we’ve been busy around here.
We went to Santa’s Wonderland in College Station last weekend. It was packed. I do not recommend going on a weekend this close to Christmas. We had to wait two hours in line to visit Santa. We went before Thanksgiving last year and it was perfect. Our new yearly tradition will be to go before TG!
The kids had a great time and were very good about waiting in line. Of course they would have preferred to run around, but it was so crowded that we didn’t let them.
The first thing we did was the hayride. We stood in line for 30 minutes for that one, but it was well worth it to see the kids so happy. They were loving all the lights. We let them run around on the trailer and they loved climbing up on the hay. The hayride itself is about 30 minutes.
Next we did the ponies and petting zoo. We were going to ride the miniature train, but it broke down right as we got up there. I think Pawpaw was the most disappointed of all. He was still talking about it yesterday and saying how he really wanted to ride it!!!
Tommy went and waited in the Santa line for us. Erin and I joined him later and she was very tired by that time. Tommy ended up holding her for the last 30 minutes of the wait. I know he was more tired by then.
When it was our turn, Erin just hopped right up in his lap and told him she wanted a Frozen Elsa doll from Santa. She didn’t hesitate or get scared. We were both pleasantly surprised and very proud of her. In the picture she looks a little scared but she wasn’t. It was just the look on her face when the lady snapped the pic. She actually took two pictures because Erin was so good that she wanted to get a good one of her. I would hate to see what the other one looked like!
